Rajkot: A woman and her alleged lover were arrested for abetting the suicide of a married taxi driver in Lodhika taluka of Rajkot on Wednesday.
Police arrested Khusbhu Dafda (23) and her lover Hardik Parmar (21) for abetting the suicide of Bharat Jadav (30), who had died two days back after consuming poison at his farm house near Metoda village on the outskirts of Rajkot city.

The accused were arrested from Ankleshwar on Wednesday evening and are being brought to the city.

On Tuesday, Jadav’s elder brother Suresh had lodged a complaint with the Lodhika police station accusing Dafda and Hardik of blackmailing Jadav and demanding money from him. Suresh’s complaint stated that his brother’s suicide note mentioned names of Dafda and her lover (Hardik) and accused them of blackmailing him for money.

According to Suresh, his brother had an affair with Dafda since past eight years. But after Jadav got married, Dafda blackmailed him and threatened to tell his wife about their relationship.

Jadav in his suicide note stated that because he had to give money to Dafda he was not able to provide enough to his family.
