Jessica Origliasso and Ruby Rose had a very awkward exchange on Instagram this week, months after their split.

And the drama continues for the unfriendly exes, after Jess liked a series of Instagram comments from fans accusing Ruby of 'gaslighting' The Veronicas singer.

On Wednesday, the 33-year-old supported fan comments criticising Ruby.

The fans were writing under a photo Jess had used to debut her new relationship with singer Kai Carlton, earlier this week.

Ruby, 32, had posted a congratulatory message in response to the gushy Instagram upload, and when Jess accused Ruby of 'harassment', the actress quickly jumped to her own defense, writing: 'That is news to me. Copy that. Good vibes only.'

'Lmao you're really trying to gaslight her huh,' one fan remarked to Ruby.

Jessica 'liked' both the comments.

Gaslighting is a term used to describe manipulation, whereby a person begins to doubt their own reality.

Jess' initial comment to Ruby read: 'I have requested you not contact me for over four months now.'

'You have been given my grace of being ignored on every other private platform, so the fact that you continue to ignore this to contact me here publicly under the guise of wishing me well is continued harassment,' she added.

Hours after Jess made the extraordinary statement about about her ex this week, she took to her Instagram Story to share a quote about removing 'toxic people' from one's life.

Exes at war! The raven-haired songstress made the allegation on Instagram over the weekend after Ruby left a comment congratulating Jessica on her new romance with singer Kai Carlton

'Entitlement is an expression of conditional love,' read the caption. 'Nobody is ever entitled to your love.

'You always have a right to protect your mental, emotional, and physical well-being by removing yourself from toxic people and circumstances.'

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Jess and Ruby for comment.

The pair split in April after two years together.
