Chinese device maker Xiaomi is all set to launch its latest smartphone Redmi Note 6 Pro in India. Note 6 Pro is the latest in Redmi’s ‘Note series’ and succeeds the extremely popular smartphone Redmi Note 5 Pro. The smartphone will be unveiled in the country on November 22 and sale will begin on the noon of November 23 with Flipkart’s Black Friday Sale.
The mid-range smartphone has already been launched in several countries before it made its way into the country. Redmi Note 6 Pro variants, pricing
The device is expected to come in three variants – 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB and 6GB/64GB and in blue, black and rose gold colour options. Although Xiaomi is yet to announce the device’s price, speculations are rife that it will be priced Rs 14,000 for the base variant and Rs 16,000 and Rs 18,000 respectively for the higher variants.
Redmi Note 6 Pro offers
As part of the launch, Flipkart is offering exclusive discounts to users of HDFC Bank debit and credit cards. The online retailer is also expected to dish out several other offers although nothing has been revealed yet.
Redmi Note 6 Pro specifications
As mentioned, Redmi Note 6 Pro is a mid-range smartphone which shares similar specifications as its predecessor, the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The device sports a tall 6.26-inch IPS LCD notch screen with a display with a resolution of 1080*2280p and aspect ratio of 19:9. It measures 157.9mm x 76.4mm x 8.3mm and weighs 182 grams.
Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset which is the same as its predecessor along with Adreno 509 GPU. The processor is supported by 3/4/6GB RAM with internal storage option of 32/64GB. It supports memory expansion of upto 256GB via microSD. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 skin loaded on top.
In camera, Redmi Note 6 Pro sports quad-cameras configuration with 12MP + 5MP dual camera setup at the rear and 20MP + 2MP dual camera setup at the front. The cameras also happen to be the USP of the phone. The rear cameras have an aperture rate of f/1.9 and f/2.2 respectively. For low light photography the sensors are assisted by a dual-LED flash. Other features of the main camera include HDR support, PDAF, among others. The front camera have an aperture rate of f/2.0 and f/2.2 respectively.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is powered by a 4000mAh battery. In connectivity, the dual-SIM VoLTE smartphone supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 with A2DP, GPS, FM Radio, microUSB 2.0, accelerometer, proximity and compass. The phone can be unlocked using the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor along with an infrared sensor-backed Face Unlock.
