“He had to repeat a year because of low attendance and exams were also coming up…”A 24-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from an iron grill in Greater Noida’s Alpha 1 area on Monday morning, police said. The man, Abhishek Singh, was a fourth-year student pursuing Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology. A suicide note was recovered in which he claimed he was not being able to deal with academic pressure.
Kasna police station in-charge Rampal Singh said, “We were informed about Abhishek’s alleged suicide by his brother, Mayank, who was in the adjacent room. The body has been sent to the mortuary for a post-mortem.” Abhishek’s brother said he had been depressed due to low attendance: “He had to repeat a year because of low attendance and exams were also coming up…”
