Audi Q8 Is A Comfortable Cruiser, But Less Engaging Than BMW’s X6

If you favor the latest Audi Q7 but want your SUV to look sportier, then the first ever Q8 just might be the right car for you.

It’s shorter, wider and sits lower to the ground than the Q7, and that sloping roofline gives it a more dynamic silhouette similar to the rivalling BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe models.

From the large grille and the slender lighting units, to the muscular creases to the frameless door windows, Audi’s design team went the extra mile to make the Q8 look sleeker.

No expenses were spared inside, where the build quality is superior and the cabin feels very refined, elegant and well built.

The touchscreen displays give it an A8 flair, and the digital instrument cluster provides drivers with the required information right in front of them. You may want to go for the optional front seats too, which CarBuyer says are superior and extremely comfortable.

In the practicality department, the Audi Q8 doesn’t impress, but it doesn’t disappoint either. Storage spaces are decent, the boot capacity is okay for a car in this segment, and space on the rear bench is sufficient.

It may look very sporty, but the Audi Q8 is more of a comfortable cruiser, with the air suspension absorbing most bumps on the road. Regardless of the selected driving mode, the steering doesn’t feel sharp, so if that’s simply a ‘no no’ for certain buyers, then they might be better off with BMW’s X6.

But let’s see what else the reviewer had to say about the entire Audi Q8 experience, from the driver’s seat.
