'He would run up and down the stairs at 2am and slam the doors': People reveal the weirdest things they've seen their roommates do
- An online forum has revealed some of the oddest behaviour shown by flatmates
- One shared how their roommate dressed in designer garb but lived in a pigsty
- Another says his roommate cut back on insulin to save and went into shock
Anyone who has rented in a flat or an apartment will know how hard it can be to make a judgement call on the person who answers your housemate wanted ad.
And while a potential roommate might turn up to your home all smiles, it's often not until you live with someone that you realise people can be unpredictable, weird or just plain strange.
Now a group of men and women have taken to the online forum Quora to share some of the more unusual and odd behaviours their former flatmates have displayed.

One man took to the thread to reveal how he had an unfortunate experience with a man he shared a room with.
He explained the pair slept in bunk beds, with him on the top and his roommate on the bottom.
The man recalled how he was woken one morning by some 'violent shaking' coming from the bottom bunk, something he put down to his roommate masturbating.
He said while he tried to downplay the awkward incident, it wasn't until he attempted to make eye contact with his roommate a little time later he realised something was wrong.
'After completing my business I returned to the room with a cheery "Good morning". Jay didn’t respond. He just stared at me vaguely. It was unnerving. I returned the stare for a few seconds and then said something like "How did you sleep?".'
He revealed his other flatmate then informed him his roommate had diabetes and what he'd mistaken for one thing was actually a seizure followed by shock.
Later it also came to light the roommate had been cutting back on his insulin as a way to save money.
'Needless to say, his frugal behaviour ended with costly and near-deadly results,' the man said.
A woman also shared her awkward experience of living with a person who she'd allowed to move into her apartment after their appearance was quite misleading.
The woman started her post by recalling how her flatmate stayed in a room that 'looked worse than a raided house, with food and clothing indistinguishable from each other'.
'A mat for a bed and the floor strewn with beer bottles, cigarette butts and left-overs from week-old food,' she wrote.

She recalled what made this even stranger was the fact her roommate looked 'sophisticated and classy; she had all kind of costly makeup products'.
The woman went on to list a series of odd behaviour on the thread, adding that the worst experience of living with the other woman was the time she and her other housemates found a strange man roaming the house.
As it turned out, the man was invited over by her roommate after threatening to jump from their apartment balcony.
'She was exactly the type of person I always wanted to avoid,' the woman said.
Another's 'unique' situation was revealed not as a single experience, but a number of 'bizarre acts'.
Topping the list of weird behaviours was his flatmate's inability to communicate.
'Every time I tried to communicate with him or saw him around campus, he would immediately walk the other way or leave,' the man wrote on the thread.
He also said his roommate would 'run around the dorm late at night and slam all the doors really hard'.
'I would hear him at 2am at night, running up and down the stairs and slamming the doors (the bathroom and his dorm door) like he was enraged.'
Then there was the roommate's penchant for leaving the shower on throughout the night, and how despite repeated conversations about the issue the roommate 'never listened or seemed to care'.
Even stranger, this flatmate would randomly curse or laugh out loud - for no reason at all.
'Keep in mind, he was my ONLY roommate so I have no idea who he was cursing towards or why he was laughing for as I was the only person in the house.
'It was really creepy because he has a very emotionless and stoic face.'
The man ended his post declaring: 'This roommate was one of the worst roommates I have ever had'.
