From Blake to Hayden: Why parents are giving their newborn girls BOYS' names - as the top trends for 2018 are revealed
- Girls are being increasingly given boys' names in the latest baby name trend
- Parenting website Stay At Home Mum shared some of the popular new names
- The monikers given to girls include Wyatt, Aidan, Blake and Campbell
First there was the nature and floral trend, followed by royal-derived names and monikers inspired by places the parents loved.
But the latest baby name trend on the block is perhaps the most unusual yet, and sees baby girls be given what are traditionally seen as boys' names.
First coined by celebrities including Jessica Simpson, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds and Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, the fashion has trickled down to the mainstream, with all sorts of names becoming more fluid with regards to gender.

Parenting website, Stay At Home Mum, cites some of the more popular monikers as ones that have come from celebrities, like Teri Hatcher's Emerson, Blake Lively's James and Jessica Simpson's Maxwell.
They report that some parents who choose more masculine names do so because the name is a family name that they wanted honoured, while others say they were never very taken with stereotypically 'girly' names anyway.
They say that some of the other popular male girls' names are Aidan, August, Aubrey, Blake, Brett, Cameron, Drew, Eddie, Glen, Harley and a name inspired by the Beckhams' youngest child, Harper.

FEMAIL recently took a look at the names set to be big in 2019, after Stay At Home Mum surveyed 900,000 mothers to find out what the trends will be.
The consensus was that parents will move towards more unique names like Danica, but classic monikers, like Charlie, will remain popular.
Celebrity names also continue to rise, including Liam, which is inspired by Liam Neeson and Liam Hemsworth, and Ariana, perhaps derived from pop star, Ariana Grande.
The name Louis is assumed to become more popular as well thanks to the latest member of the royal family.
Meanwhile, some of the names predicted to fall into extinction in 2018 have also been unveiled recently, including Arnold, Carl and Ivor for boys and Mimi, Bonny and Alora for girls.
More unusual male names including Fabio and Soren were given the thumbs down, with Jago taking the award for least popular.
Despite the enduring reign of the Kardashians, Kourtney also looks set for extinction.
