Kanwarpal claimed two Sikh activists were detained by the police.Members of radical Sikh groups have alleged that the Punjab Police have detained youths of the community in connection with the grenade blast in Amritsar that left three dead on Sunday.
“Police raids on. Witch hunting started. Police have raided houses of Sikh Youth Punjab president Paramjit Singh Mand and Dal Khalsa member from Amritsar Gurjant Singh. Mand was not present in the house whereas police have taken Gurjant into custody,” reads a Facebook post by Dal Khalsa spokesman Kanwarpal Singh.
Kanwarpal claimed two Sikh activists were detained by the police.
In response to the post, two more Sikh activists said the police have raided their house as well. “Police had came to pick me. I was not in good health. So I am called at the police station at 11 am,” said Paramjit Singh Akali, a Sikh activist.
Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal, associated with a faction of Sikh Student Federation, said, “Three police vehicles came to my house this morning. I am called at the police station at around 11 am.”
IGP, Border Range, SPS Parmar said, “Yes, certain people have been summoned for interrogation related to the blast. He, however, dod not reveal the number of such people.
Police had detained three members of Satikar Committee, active in Amritsar, on Sunday and Monday.
