Junior doctors on ceasework

SAMBALPUR: The junior doctors of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, who had been abstaining from their duties and extending support to only emergency care demanding removal of the director of the institution, Aswini Pujahari resorted to complete ceasework on Monday.


On Thursday, the Junior Doctor Association submitted a memorandum to the health minister demanding removal of the director alleging his involvement in unlawful activities. Pujahari has written to the governor for an inquiry into the allegations made against him. VIMSAR authorities have cancelled the leaves of all doctors so that treatment of patients is not affected. Dean and principal of VIMSAR Prof. Braja Mohan Mishra said, "We have taken all steps to deal with the situation."
