Heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds lashed Davangere, Honnalli and Harihar taluks on Sunday night.
Water entered several low-lying areas creating severe inconvenience to residents. Standing crops in hundreds of acres in Davangere taluk have been affected owing to rain.
It started raining at around 9.30 p.m. and continued till late in the night. Residents in low-lying areas had to struggle for the whole night removing rainwater from their houses.
It is estimated that paddy in more than 200 acres of land in Honnalli taluk has been affected.
