NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the red with the Nifty IT index down 1.37 per cent at 14,399.75 on Tuesday.

Shares of HCL Technologies (down 2.99 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 2.86 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (down 1.71 per cent) and Wipro (down 1.31 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

MindTree (down 1.18 per cent), NIIT Technologies (down 1.14 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services (down 1.13 per cent) too were trading in the red.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 43.45 points at 10,719.95 while BSE Sensex was down 119.5 points at 35,655.38 at 10:35 am.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Idea Cellular, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Indiabulls Housing Finance, SBI, Indian Oil Corp and Hindalco Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE on Tuesday.
