Indore: IRIS-2018, the three-day annual management and cultural fest of Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM I) concluded on a high musical note on Sunday. The participants and students enjoyed performance of popular band, The Local Train.
Flagship Events
Drona
Drona, the three-day leadership event of IRIS, began with an online quiz. In the second round, participants were assigned different products to gather insight and pitch a marketing strategy to judges. Participants were also given domain-knowledge sessions on marketing, finance and operations. Group discussions and interviews followed to select five finalists. In final round, the finalists were supposed to play roles of renowned personalities like Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and come up with strategies and solutions regarding present and future scenarios.
Chain Reaction
Chain reaction, the operations management event, ended with a bang. Over 650 teams took part. Shortlisted teams were invited for on-campus rounds on last day of IRIS. The first round was a simulation game on inventory management. Five top teams participated in an operations case round. Teams from IIFT Delhi, IIM Indore etc participated. The event was judged by Professor Sanjay Choudhari and Professor Bhavin Shah. Winners were Abhilash, Arpit and Kushagra from IIM Indore
Jigyasa
About 40 teams took part in quizzing event,Jigyasa. It started with a preliminary written round, which saw six teams making to finals. The finals had three rounds – out of which one round involved identifying a word whose urban dictionary definition was given. My Campaign Marketing event,
My Campaign
was judged by Nitesh Khargaonkar from Mahindra sales team and Shweta Jha, a doctoral scholar at IIM-Indore. About 150 teams participated. Team Falcon from IIM Raipur won it.
