TDP State president and Energy Minister K. Kala Venkata Rao has suggested that Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan should break his silence on failures of the BJP government and its actions which posed a threat to democracy, instead of carrying out a motivated campaign against the State government.
In an open letter to the JSP chief containing 19 questions on Sunday, Mr. Rao sought to know the reason for Mr. Kalyan’s reticence on the devastating impact of demonetisation on the economy, the GST fiasco, corruption charges at the helm in CBI, Rafale fighter aircraft procurement scandal, the erosion of autonomy of institutions like the Reserve Bank of India, interference in matters related to the Supreme Court etc.
Instead of raising his voice on those issues concerning the entire nation, Mr. Kalyan launched a tirade against the TDP government.
Does it not amount to lending tacit support to the BJP, Mr. Rao asked.
The Minister expressed regret that Mr. Kalyan criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s initiative to form an anti-BJP coalition at the national level.
Many parties have supported the move but by opposing it, Mr. Kalyan proved that he was on the BJP’s side, he said.
