Congress seeks probe into CBI officer’s claims

The Congress raised questions on the functioning of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Central Government.

Demanding a separate probe into corruption allegations made by CBI DIG M K Sinha in his petition filed before Supreme Court, the Congress on Monday raised questions on the functioning of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Central Government.

Congress’s communications in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said, “When the entire PMO, when the National Security Advisor, when a Minister of the Modi government is said to be having indulged in corruption; and the other minister in PMO is said to have helped him; when the Cabinet Secretary and the Law Secretary are named, as they have been named here; when the IB, RAW and CBI’s credibility is at stake, as it has been put at stake by words and phraseology of this affidavit; and when the CVC responsible for investigating the entire matter, his own judgment and conduct is under a cloud, then democracy is in peril and the Constitution in danger.”
