BJP candidates want CM, Yogi Adityanath as star campaigners

BJP candidates want CM, Yogi Adityanath as star campaigners

BHOPAL: After Shivraj Singh Chouhan, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath is more in demand as star campaigner in the state than other leaders of the party. The BJP candidates are demanding Yogi as star campaigner in Burhanpur, Mandsaur, Nagda and other places that need the Hindutva touch.

The party candidates are giving a wide berth to holding public meetings by other star campaigners. The candidates say that they have to put in their strength in organising public meetings by other leaders. That hampers their public relation work. So, they have said no to holding meetings by any leader other than the Chief Minister and Yogi Adityanath. There was a demand from the party candidates in Bundelkhand for holding meetings of Uma Bharti because of the presence of people, belonging to the Lodhi community to which Bharti belongs, in that area.

Cong Candidates Demand Scindia

BJP candidates are not keen on calling star campaigners – Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Ravishanker Prasad, Piyush Goyal and others – to their constituencies.

Jyotiraditya Scindia is much in demand in the Congress. Besides Scindia, the party candidates want Ajay Singh to hold meetings in Vindhya region. But the Congress candidates are not keen on holding meetings of Kamal Nath and former chief minister Digvijaya Singh. They are also not keen on calling central leaders to the state for holding public meetings.
