PUNE: Indian players Vijay Sundar Prashanth and N Shriram Balaji went down tamely in the second round of the qualifying at the KPIT MSLTA ATP Challenger being played at the Balewadi Tennis Complex here on Sunday. 

Fifth seeded Benjamin Hassan of Germany ended N Sriram Balaji’s challenge, registering a  7-6 (9-7), 6-3 victory in an encounter which went on for 1 hour and 39 minutes. 

In another match, Israel’s Ben Patael outplayed  N Vijay Sundar Prashanth 6-0, 6-3 in 57 minutes to end the Indian Challenge.

In other action of the day, German player Lucas Gerch defeated  Miliaan Niesten from Netherlands 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 while Mick Lescure from France defeated Japan’s Rio Noguchi with the score reading 6-3, 6-2,

Also making it to the final round of qualifying was Germany’s sixth seeded player  Sebastian Fanselow who defeated opponent  Chein Sun Lo from who is from Taipei City with the score of 6-3,6-3 while Viktor Durasovic from Norway defeated  Egypt player Youssef Hossam  4-6,7-6 (9-7),6-4.

Also registering a victory was Italy’s Franscesco Vilardo who defeated Sanjar Fayziev from Uzbekistan with the scoreline of 2-6,7-6 (7-5),7-5 while Danylo Kalenchinko got past Khumoyun Sultanov from Uzbekistan 5-7,7-6 (6-3),6-4.
