Madhya Pradesh assembly polls 2018: 6500 Exercise Postal Ballots

BHOPAL:  Over 6,500 police officials and other securitymen exercised their franchise through postal ballots at Motilal Nehru Stadium on Sunday for assembly polls 2018. Next phase of the voting will be held on November 24 in which other officials and employees assigned the poll duty will cast their votes through postal ballots.

Election commission has instructed to declare dry day within 3 kilometers areas of along the boundary of states which are going to poll. It will be dry day (no liquor sell) 48 hours before polling November 28. Request has been made with other boundary states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh to do so. Chief electoral officer (CEO) VL Kantha Rao has also declared dry day on date for counting of votes (December 11).

Besides, there must be holiday for voters of the state which is going to poll,who are working in other neighboring states. Similarly, private sectors have been instructed to declare holiday or break for employers to cast votes on day of polling. Political parties have been instructed to distributes badges, identify cards to party workers. Slips which are distributed to voters should not bear any sign, symbol or name of candidates. Political parties have been instructed not to allow crowd at their camps on day of poling. Besides, there must be no supply of food material.
