The 549th birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikh religion, Guru Nanak, would be celebrated on a grand scale in Telangana from November 19 to November 23. Prabhandak Committees of Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Afzalgunj, have joined hands to make the celebrations a success.

Two colourful processions would be taken out by Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj, at 4 p.m. on November 19 (Monday) and another by Gurudwara Saheb, Secunderabad, on November 21.

Over 20,000 devotees from across the State would take part in the procession.

Guru Granth Sahebji, the holy scripture of Sikhs, would be carried on a beautifully-decorated vehicle along with Nishaan Sahebans (religious flags) all along the procession.

The procession would be marked by rendering of Shabad Keertans by Jatha Tera Jatha, Isitri Satsang and Keerthani Jathas of men and women. Besides, Panj Pyaras (five beloved ones) in their traditional attire would be the cynosure of all eyes.

A night Keertan Darbar would be organised on November 22 at Gurudwara Saheb, Secunderabad, from 7.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., while another night Keertan Darbar would be organised at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj, on November 23 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. A mass congregation would be held at Exhibition Grounds at Nampally from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 23.
