'Avoid delay in distributing title deeds'
TNN | Nov 19, 2018, 07:31 ISTThiruvananthapuram: The revenue department has directed officials concerned to avoid delay in distributing title deeds and pokkuvaravu (mutation of property) and to ensure transparency of procedures. The directive follows a recommendation by legislative assembly committee.
Officials have been asked to keep vigil while initiating procedures 'on time, with precision and by ensuring transparency', after scrutinizing applications received for title deeds, said an official release issued here on Sunday.
"All lapses with regard to distribution of title deeds and negligence of duty have to be detected and rectified," it said. Pointing at the government's declared policy of 'title deeds for all deserving people', the department directed district collectors to review all related procedures on a regular basis. Officials concerned have also been asked to speed up the implementation of the online system to ensure speedy and error-free pokkuvaravu procedures, and to strictly monitor its implementation. Revenue additional chief secretary P H Kurien has also warned of disciplinary action against officials who fail to follow the instructions.
