Three persons targeted by pickpockets

Panchkula: Another person fell prey to pickpocket and lost Rs 79,000 here on Sunday. Some unknown person stole Rs 79,000 from the pockets of three persons during the CM road show two-days ago in Kalka. A case of theft has been registered with the Kalka police.

A complaint was given to the cops by Yatinder Kumar Gulati, a resident of Uppar Mohalla, Kalka. In his complaint to the cops, Yatinder stated that he went to see the road show organised by the Haryana CM in Kalka and was carrying Rs 25,000 .


After the roadshow, he realised that some unknown person has stolen cash from his pocket. A similar incident happened with Shyam Sundar Goel when he found out that Rs 44,000 was stolen from his pocket. Another person, Hoshiar Singh was targeted and lost Rs 10,000.


A joint complaint was given to the cops. Based on the complaint, the cops registered a case under Section 379 (punishment for theft) of the IPC in Kalka police station against unknown persons.


Rakesh Kumar, the investigation officer, said, "We have registered a case and we are investigating into the matter."
