BSF officer killed, 4 others injured in mysterious explosion in J&K

JAMMU: An assistant commandant of the Border Security Force (BSF) was killed while four other officers were injured in a mysterious explosion at a forward border outpost in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on Monday evening.
“Around 5.20pm, a blast took place at Mangu Chack camp where BSF’s 173 Battalion is deployed. Assistant commandant Zabar Singh was killed on the spot while four other officers sustained injuries in the explosion,” said Dr Koushal Kumar, senior superintendent of police, Samba.
The injured have been identified as inspectors Ajeet Kumar and B Naidu, and sub-inspectors Akash Raina and Amit Kumar. They are under treatment at a military hospital in Satwari.
“Police have registered a case and are trying to ascertain the cause of the blast,” said the SSP.
