Shots fired in large fight reported at Fall River Sports Club Saturday

FALL RIVER – Two shell casings were recovered and witnesses were interviewed after a reported shooting outside the Fall River Sports Club, 233 Hope St., Saturday at 10:30 p.m.

“Police responded at 10:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired and a large fight,” said Sgt. J.T. Hoar, a department spokesman. “Officers observed a large crowd of people outside the Fall River Sports Club.”

Witnesses told police that two people at a function inside the club got into an argument and that the argument continued outside.

“Police recovered two spent 9 mm casings and the incident remains under investigation at this time,” Hoar said. “No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.”

No arrests were reported in connection with the incident.
