Strike cuts output at EDF's Penly 2 nuclear reactor

Strike cuts output at EDF's Penly 2 nuclear reactor PARIS: A strike has reduced electricity generation at French utility EDF's 1,300 megawatts (MW) Penly 2 nuclear reactor in the north of the country by over 66 percent on Monday, power systems operator RTE said.

The RTE said output was reduced at Penly's number 2 reactor by 860 MW. It did not give reasons for the strike. EDF could not be reached for comment.

Separately, the RTE said output at EDF's 900 MW Fessenheim 2 nuclear reactor was reduced by 215 MW due to environmental reasons.
