Stanley Lieber was so embarrassed that he was a comic book writer that he started signing off as “Stan Lee”; he later legally adopted this “dumb name” Lee met Joan Boocock, a British hat model, in 1974; they got married and were together for 69 years till her death in 2017.

His personal fortune is estimated at $50 million Lee, through his company POW!Entertainment, co-created an Indian superhero, Chakra the Invincible, along with an Indian graphic entertainment company.
