Mahindra Scorpio S9 – what you need to know
While there are no changes to the design, the Scorpio S9 does get static-bending projector headlamps and LED light guides, which do their bit to add a bit of premium flair to the vehicle. Having said that, this new variant does boast of a lot of tech on board which includes the micro-hybrid system, intellipark, voice assist and GPS navigation in ten languages! The Mahindra Scorpio S9 also gets a neat looking 15 cm touchscreen infotainment system for that added convenience.
Under the hood is the tried and tested 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine that now delivers 140 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. It gets a 6th generation Borg Warner turbocharger and is paired to a six speed transmission. The Scorpio has always been known to be one of the most powerful vehicles in its category and it continues to dominate on that front.
Safety features have also been enhanced and the Scorpio S9 comes with dual front airbags, ABS, a panic brake indication and an anti-theft warning system. Mahindra has also equipped this variant with cushion suspension and anti-roll technologies that play a vital role in making it safer to drive while being more comfortable as well.
Other key features offered on the Scorpio S9 are the audio and cruise controls on the steering, fully automatic temperature control, a hydraulic assist bonnet and ORVMs with side turn indicators.
Keeping all this in mind, the Scorpio S9 has been priced rather aggressively at INR 13.99 lakh and we do expect it to find many takers!
