Sanganer textile unit owners find an allyJAIPUR: After decades of battling with NGT, courts and authorities for polluting land, water and air, and facing shutdowns, Sanganer textile industrial units see a ray of hope with the establishment of a common effluent treatment plant (CETP).
Once operational in December, this units will be categorized as zero discharge plants. Recycled water will be utilised again by the textile industry operating in the area.
“Last decade has been a difficult time for us. Due to the pollution in the water bodies around the area, the high court had ordered the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) to shut down 893 textile units in the area. We ran from pillar to post to get it stayed. The demand for CETP was going on for a long time but we were short of money. Hence, state and central government pitched in,” said Rajendra, president of Sanganer Rangai Chappai Association.
Industrial unit owners in Sanganer said that they have no allegiance to any party, and only want the ruling party to support their cause on which their livelihood is dependent.
However, in hushed tones and lower voice, they agreed that the BJP leaders supported them in the time of need.
“During the previous government, some BJP leaders went to the CM requesting the government on our behalf to find a solution to this problem.
