Thugs of Hindostan was touted to be the biggest release of the year. However, the film has failed to meet expectations. The film managed to mint Rs 2.46 crore on its eleventh day at the box office, taking the total collection to Rs 145.95 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the latest figures of the movie and wrote, “#ThugsOfHindostan [Week 2] HINDI: Fri 1.30 cr, Sat 1.70 cr, Sun 2.40 cr. Total: ₹ 140.35 cr.
TAMIL + TELUGU: Fri 4 lakhs, Sat 5 lakhs, Sun 6 lakhs. Total: ₹ 5.60 cr. #Hindi + #Tamil + #Telugu total: ₹ 145.95 cr. India biz. #TOH.”

While the film’s business in India is not up to the mark, the results do not look any different when it comes to its overseas performance. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had recently tweeted about the overseas box office performance of Thugs of Hindostan. He wrote, “#ThugsOfHindostan is an underperformer in international markets… OVERSEAS total after Week 1: $ 7.80 million [₹ 56.11 cr]… Breakup of key markets: #USA + #Canada: $ 1.76 mn #UAE + #GCC: $ 2.72 mn #UK: $ 810k Rest of the World: $ 2.51 mn Few cinemas yet to report… #TOH.”

The film has received negative reviews from critics. In fact, The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta mentioned that the film “is thuggery on a large scale, and we the viewers are at the receiving end.”

She added, “Not only do you end up picking up on past films, scenes and references, you are left struggling with staleness and boredom. The writing is shockingly pedestrian, and the film just lies around, waiting for something to happen. Nothing does, for nearly three hours.”

Produced by Yash Raj Films, Thugs of Hindostan brought Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan on screen for the first time. The film released on November 8.
