Bhopal, In a major development within the Congress camp, the party’s senior leader and former Rajya Sabha Member Satyavrat Chaturvedi was today expelled from the Congress’ primary membership, party sources said.
The disciplinary action followed failure of attempts to dissuade Mr Chaturvedi’s son Nitin from contesting on a Samajwadi Party ticket from Rajnagar assembly constituency in Chhatarpur district.
