The Head of Delhi University’s Department of Buddhist Studies, K T S Sarao Monday said he has filed a police complaint with regard to the “forged marksheets” submitted by former DU Students’ Union president Ankiv Baisoya.

In his complaint, Sarao has asked police to “initiate action as per the law” against Baisoya. A senior officer said: “We have received a complaint. We are examining it before filing an FIR.”

Meanwhile, the ABVP — which Baisoya belonged to before he was suspended — staged a protest in North Campus against the alleged “nexus” between the DU administration and the NSUI for not taking action on the admission of former DUSU president Rocky Tuseed and NSUI national secretary Akshay Kumar. The ABVP claims their admission is also based on forged or erroneous documents.

In his complaint to the Maurice Nagar police station SHO, Sarao wrote: “Ankiv Baisoya… had appeared in the entrance exam conducted nationally by the University of Delhi for admission to MA Part I in the Department of Buddhist Studies for… 2018-19. After having qualified this examination… Baisoya took admission in MA (Buddhist Studies) Part I on the basis of the six marksheets of BA of Thiruvalluvar University.”

“In a written response to a request from the undersigned for verification of these marksheets, the Controller of Examinations of Thiruvalluvar University has written that each of these marksheets submitted by… Baisoya are ‘not genuine, it is a fake certificate’. A copy of the report from the Controller of Examinations, Thiruvalluvar University, is enclosed. On the basis of the verification report received from the Controller of Examinations, Thiruvalluvar University, admission of… Baisoya… was cancelled on November 14. You are kindly requested to… initiate action as per law in this regard,” he wrote.
