Fire breaks out at Varanasi airport

VARANASI: Pani c prevailed at the Lal Bahadur Shsastri International Airpirt, Babatpur when a fire broke out at the counter of Air India on Monday morning. The airport authorities admitted that it was done by someone intentionally.
The man has been identified and the matter is being investigated. The fire was extinguished immediately by the fire brigade. No casualties were reported so far. The police said that the identified man would be nabbed soon.
According to reports, fire was noticed at the ticket counter of Air India around 8am. The airport staff as well as fire tender extinguished the fire immediately. The matter was reported to Phoolpur police station. In the preliminary investigation, it came to light that the fire broke out not by any electric short circuit but the ticket counter was torched by someone.
The airport director AK Rai also told TOI that it was not an accident but an intentional act. The matter is being investigated by the police as well as airport authorities. The Air India manager at the airport Atif Idrish said that there were no casualties in the incident. The matter is being probed under which circumstances the fire broke out at the counter.
