Champagne Carbon Bottles The Bugatti Of Bubbly With ƎB.01

Drinking and driving don’t mix. But that doesn’t mean automakers can’t team up with the distillers, brewers, and vintners of high-end alcohol. Like Bugatti has with this champagne brand.

Appropriately called Champagne Carbon, the French brand first came to our attention when it started furnishing the bubbly for F1 drivers to spray and guzzle on the grand-prix podium. And now it’s partnered with Bugatti to produce the special-edition Champagne Carbon ƎB.01.

The cuvée itself is a blend of 90% chardonnay grapes with 10% pinot noir, made in the same eastern region of France where Bugatti is based, and marketed to the same elite clientele. But the commonality may be more directly apparent in the carbon fiber that wraps the bottle and the hypercar alike.

“We are thrilled to have the chance to begin an adventure with Bugatti. At the crossroad of tradition and modernity, excellence and technology, Bugatti never makes compromises. We feel the same about our Champagne,” said Alexandre Mea, CEO of Champagne Carbon. “Our constant pursuit of perfection and relentless desire to innovate has naturally led us to a powerful brand like Bugatti: breaking the conventions and remaining one of the top luxury brands in the World.”

“Bugatti and Champagne Carbon are avant-gardists of their respective industry, translating their know-how achieved through a proud history into an innovative present and future,” added Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann. “Striving for perfection is at the core of all our actions, leading us to constantly want to keep pushing our own boundaries.”

The Alsatian automaker isn’t the first to partner with a champagne brand. Aston Martin outfitted a Rapide S for Dom Perignon, and Krug recently rediscovered its 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow shooting brake.

Morgan even has its own beer, and Elon Musk made headlines for his stated plan to make his own tequila. At this rate, we don’t doubt there’ll be other automakers getting in on the high-end hooch – which is fine by us, just so long as the two types of product aren’t enjoyed together.
