It’s The 2020 BMW X5 M’s Turn To Pay A Visit To Nurburgring

A camouflaged prototype of the 2020 BMW X5 M was recently caught on camera driven flat-out at the Nordschleife.

The range-topping model of the fourth-gen BMW X5 family fired up its engine outside the (in)famous German track, before tackling the corners like a champ.

Aided by the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine, reportedly making around 600 PS (592 hp / 442 kW), the new X5 M is expected to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds.

Some of the technical features that will differentiate it from the rest of the range, apart of course from the engine, will be the tuned chassis and bigger brakes.

Visually, the new BMW X5 M will arrive with reworked front and rear bumpers and a roof-mounted spoiler. Bigger wheels, ‘M’ badges and the specific interior trim, alongside the sporty front seats, should round up the list of updates compared to the 2019 BMW X5.

While nobody outside the German car firm knows exactly when the X5 M will premiere, we wouldn’t be surprised if we saw it at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of the month, or at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show in January.

No matter when and where it will premiere, order books will likely open in the second quarter of next year and pricing is expected to start at over $100,000 in the United States.
