A Greens staffer has offered to quit after sickening tweets about child porn, fat fetishes and Islamophobia resurfaced.

Paul McMillan, who works for Greens Northcote MP Lidia Thorpe in Melbourne, discussed paedophilia and used misogynistic slurs in vile tweets that have come to light, the Herald Sun reported.  

'If we started locking up everyone who's addicted to child porn there'd be nobody left,' the tweet about paedophilia reads.

'Pretty f***ed how Muslims want to ban my favourite hobby, greasing myself up in pig fat and oinking like a grunter at the traffic lights,' another tweet read. 

'When are allegedly female trollumists going to learn that breasts are not a magical f------ tractor beam,' another said.

On Sunday night, Ms Thorpe said the staffer had offered his resignation as the tweets were a breach of employment. 

'These comments were meant as satire, but there is no place for this type of language regardless of the intent,' Ms Thorpe said.

Ms Thorpe's Twitter account has since been switched to locked.

It is understood Mr McMillan was the community outreach and constituent engagement lead for Ms Thorpe.

Mr McMillan said he had a key role in her 2017 by-election win.

The tweets come a month after Greens candidate Joanna Nilson quit her election campaign due to her social media history being revealed.

Ms Nilson posted about stealing groceries and the use of nangs; small canisters of nitrous oxide often inhaled by youths as a quick and cheap high.

Greens candidate Angus McAlpine also came under fire last week after it was revealed he released rap music which featured lyrics about date rape as well as homophobic and misogynistic slurs. 

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has gone against making deals with the Greens, claiming there is a 'toxic cultural problem' around women in the party. 

'I will not sit down, never, sit down and negotiate with people who refuse to call out denigration of women,' Andrews told reporters on Sunday in Clyde, in Melbourne's outer southeast.
