At least 14 people were killed and 13 others injured, when a passenger bus fell into a deep gorge near Damta in Uttarkashi district today. According to police sources, the ill-fated bus was going from Uttarkashi to Vikasnagar.

The seriously injured have been referred to Dehradun for treatment. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has expressed grief over the incident and instructed to give an ex-gratia amount to the family of deceased.
