People’s manifesto unveiled

The Telangana Election Watch here, which comprises representatives from 32 voluntary organisations in the State, has released a people’s manifesto for the Karimnagar assembly segment and urged political parties to implement it in true spirit.

At a function in Karimnagar town on Sunday, senior lawyer Ch Muthyam Rao (90) and businessman Kesarimal Karwa released the manifesto.

The manifesto asks elected candidates from Karimnagar assembly segment to accord priority to the completion of R&B roads as well as internal roads in the town and of the underground drainage system. Demanding the parties to sanction government medical and engineering college in Karimnagar, they also sought a permanent Vice-Chancellor for Satavahana University.

They have also urged for shifting of roadside vendors to rythu bazaars to help ease traffic congestionand called for removal of encroachments on footpaths. The manifesto includes demands for shifting and relocation of statues to LMD reservoir, introduction of city bus services, daily water supply and development of adjoining villages, etc.
