Forced to defer her decision to have darshan at Sabarimala in the face of virulent protests, Trupti Desai has resolved to visit the temple without making any prior announcements.
She said she would resort to guerrilla tactics as she had done elsewhere, to enter the temple premises during the 62-day annual pilgrim season, which got under way on Friday.
“The protesters are scared of us. They know well that if I had reached Nilackal or the Pampa, I would doubtless have trekked to the temple and worshipped Lord Ayyappa. That is why they chose to waylay me at the airport itself,” she told the media at the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery late on Friday.
Not scared
She said she was not in the least frightened by the protest, but “I chose to return after Kerala Police personnel, who have been really good to me, requested me to cooperate in averting the vehement protests going on outside turning violent.
“It is not my intent to give rise to a violent law-and-order situation. That is why I am going back,” Ms. Trupti Desai said.
