Trump Will Speak to CIA, Pompeo Saturday on Khashoggi Killing

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump said he would speak with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and CIA officials Saturday amid reports the intelligence agency had concluded that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the assassination of U.S.-based columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

Trump told reporters Saturday morning as he left the White House for a trip to California that he didn’t yet know enough about the situation to make a decision.

Several news organizations including the Washington Post and New York Times reported the CIA has concluded the crown prince ordered Khashoggi’s assassination in Istanbul last month, contradicting the Saudi government’s claim he wasn’t involved in the murder.

Trump said he would speak with Pompeo during his flight to California to view damage from deadly wildfires.
