1,993 aspirants successful in PCS (Mains)-2016, UPPSC to announce interview schedule on Monday

Representational ImageAllahabad: At least 1,993 candidates were declared successful in provincial civil services (mains) exams-2016, the result of which was announced after a delay of two years by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Friday. The selected aspirants would appear for interviews to compete for 633 posts, the schedule for which would be released by Monday.
At least 2,50,696 candidates had appeared in the preliminary stage of the exams held on March 20, 2016. The Commission had declared the result of the same on May 27, 2016, in which around 14,000 were declared successful.
“Only 12,901 aspirants had appeared in the mains exams held from September 20 to October 10, 2016 out of which only 1993 aspirants managed to qualify for interviews,“ said secretary, UPPSC, Jagdish.
He said, “As per the state government’s reservation policy, the aspirants who have applied under ex-servicemen category would be selected under Grade C services. Apart from it, there is no provision of interviews in the service rule of district horticulture officers so their results will be taken out after the interviews of the remaining candidates.”
The result would also be uploaded on the official website, www.uppsc.up.nic.in.
