J-K: Three civilians abducted by gunmen in Shopian district

Search operations have been launched to trace the trio, a police official said.

Three civilians were abducted by unidentified gunmen in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday morning. Police sources said that three people were abducted from Saidpora Payeen area of Shopian district. While two are residents of Shopian district, one is a resident of nearby Kulgam district. Search operations have been launched to trace the trio, a police official said.

The incident comes two days after a 17-year-old youth was abducted from a village in Shopian and killed by militants in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Police said that the youth’s bullet-riddled body was found in Pulwama’s Niklora village.
