Dalit woman cop accuses constable of molestation in Kutch district

Picture used for representational purpose onlyRAJKOT: A Dalit woman police constable lodged a complaint of molestation against a police constable with Khavda police station in Kutch district on Thursday night.
While the woman constable (23) serves with Mandvi police station, the accused constable, identified as Shailendrasinh Jadeja, serves with Nakhatrana police station in Kutch district.
“In her complaint, the woman cop has alleged that Jadeja had molested her on Tuesday evening in a room allotted to the cops who were summoned to manage bandobast at ‘Rannotsav’ in Dhordo. The woman alleged that while she was alone in the room, Jadeja arrived and grabbed her and molested her,” deputy superintendent of police, SC/ST cell, Bhuj, S K Vala said.
Apart from molestation, Jadeja has also been booked under Atrocity Act. Jadeja is yet to be arrested.
