Barwani/ Sendhwa: BJP chief Amit Shah began his whirlwind tour of poll-bound Madhya Pradesh from the tribal-dominated Barwani district of western Madhya Pradesh. Shah who began his address recalled the contribution of tribal martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle. He also hailed the contribution of Bheema Nayak. He attacked the Congress saying that the party paid no tribute to tribal “heroes” and worshipped only one family.
On Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Shah said that (Rahul) Gandhi was suffering from Modi phobia because “no matter what, he sees Modi everywhere”. Shah said while the Bharatiya Janata Party under Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the state made progress, the Congress had no development stories to tell, hence the Modi-chants!
Senior party leaders, including Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, state party president Rakesh Singh, national general secretary Kailash Vijayvergiya, party candidate from Barwani – Premsingh Patel, Antar Singh Patel from Rajpur, Antar Singh Arya from Sendhwa and Diwan Singh Patel from Pansemal were also present. Shah who arrived about two hours behind the schedule, began his address launching a scathing attack on Congress. In his 45-minute address, Shah recounted Congress government failures and also how Digvijaya Singh’s 10-year tenure as chief minister in the state put Madhya Pradesh in Bimaru state category.
With the Modi government at the Centre, Shah said that BJP government gave Rs 2 lakh crore extra to the state in comparison to the Congress and state people, particularly those who living in the tribal areas are directly benefited from this. Without quoting anyone, Shah added that four generations who ruled the nation now asked Modi to give his report card after four years.
“Rahul Gandhi has absolutely nothing to talk about,” he said, “He cannot speak about the corruption, nor can he talk of development — as it was non-existent.” “Throughout his speeches, I failed to understand whether he was campaigning for the BJP or the Congress,” Shah quipped. Shah even recounted development work done under BJP rule in the state and urged people to exercise their voting rights. Appreciating the work done by the Chouhan government, Shah said the BJP government in the state has developed the state which was once considered a ‘Bimaru’. The BJP president said, “Congress will bring down Madhya Pradesh from the track of development.”
Amit Shah added, “Under BJP, the state will prosper further from the path of development. Electricity has reached all villages and homes under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chauhan.”Madhya Pradesh goes to a single phase poll on November 28. With the last day for the withdrawal of nominations over, campaigning by all parties is at a high pitch.
