In an effort to garner votes for Lok Sabha elections in 2019, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other ministers will be taking part in a bike rally on Saturday.

BJP will hold the “Kamal Sandesh Bike rally” across the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state to set the ground for the upcoming elections. While Adityanath will be participating in the bike rally in Varanasi, deputy chief ministers Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya will be in Lucknow and Phulpur respectively. At least five bike-borne workers will be sent to every booth, while senior leaders will visit the districts.

“On Saturday, the bike rally will be taken out with at least five representatives in each booth of 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state,” said Himanshu Dubey, BJP’s state media co-incharge. He further said that all the Members of Parliament, ministers as well as Members of Legislative Assembly, state office bearers and MLCs will join the rallies in their respective regions. State General Secretary Govind Narayan Shukla said that besides the CM and deputy CMs, State President Mahendra Nath Pandey will be in Chandauli and general secretary (organisation) of the state unit of the BJP, Sunil Bansal will be in Kannauj to join the rallies.

In an another such mass contact campaign, BJP has planned to illuminate 3 crore lotus-shaped earthen lamps to mark the Republic Day. The party has named it “Kamal Jyoti Vikaas Abhiyaan” where the leaders also plan to distribute pamphlets giving details of the development projects undertaken by the government.
