With the supreme court decriminalising same-sex relationship, MTV Elovator Pitch will present a special episode with only gay contestants. This is for the first time on Indian television that the LGBTQ community will be openly engaging in a dating reality show. The series is hosted by Cyrus Sahukar and Gaelyn Mendonca.

Expressing his excitement on the same, host Cyrus in a statement said, “On Elovator Pitch, it only makes sense to have an episode with people from the LGBTQ Community. Co-host Gaelyn added, “With this special concept, we have upped the ante as India’s first dating reality show to have people from all walks of life coming and exploring beautiful bonds. Elovator Pitch brings with it a heavy dose of comedy and love and I’m sure this episode will be a treat to watch for the audience. I’m proud to be a part of the show that is creating history on national television.”

Interestingly, a contestant in the episode Rahul Bharti came out publicly through the show. Sharing his thoughts, Rahul exclusively told indianexpress.com, “It wasn’t easy. I still can’t believe I came out on national television. It took time for my family to process everything but I know they will be fine. I am thankful to the show for giving me the platform.”

Elovator Pitch sees 10 prospective daters trying to impress one person in an elevator. The time between two floors is all that each dater gets to make a pitch. It airs every Friday at 7 pm on MTV.
