Unspecified number of power stations to close in Germany by 2022 BERLIN: An unspecified number of power stations in Germany will be shut down by 2022 in agreement with their operators, according to a draft document from a government commission tasked with creating a roadmap for phasing out coal.

The document said agreement with the operators should happen on the basis of contracts which include rules for possible compensation for operators. It said finances needed to be set aside for the recommended measures and there would not be a levy on the electricity price.
