Former Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Chairperson Chandra Mohan Sharma allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence here, police said on Friday.
He was under depression for quite some time and was found dead in his room on Friday morning by his wife, a police official told IANS.
A suicide note was recovered from his residence, Deputy Superintendent of Police Pramod Shukla said.
He had taken the extreme step because he had been suffering from a disease.
The police has registered a case in the matter.
He was the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission from 2009 to 2013.
