A deadly and extremely rare sea snake has been found slithering across a popular beach in Queensland where tourists frequently swim.
Footage of the olive-headed sea snake, which was found washed up at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, was captured by passerby Harris Noy on Friday morning.
In the video, the snake is seen frantically slithering and writhing across the shore, until it stops, unable to gain enough traction to move forward on the wet sand.

Mr Noy told Daily Mail Australia he came across the sea snake while he was going for an early morning walk.
'I first thought it was dead, but it was well and truly alive,' Mr Noy said.
There were plenty of swimmers and walkers who nearly stepped on the serpent, so after filming it, Mr Noy said he rang for a professional snake handler.
Gold Coast and Brisbane Snake Catcher Tony Harrison told The Gold Coast Bulletin the 'usually placid' olive-headed sea snake leaves a nasty bite which can be fatal.
He urged people to steer clear of the snake because if you tried to pick it up, it would most likely bite and its venom is 'very, very toxic'.
'It will kill you, you would have time to go to the hospital but if you didn't do anything about it your family would be planning a funeral the next day,' Mr Harrison said.

The olive-headed sea snake likes the tropical waters of northern Australia and Southern Papua New Guinea, to New Caledonia
He added: 'It is one of the more common snakes you get on Gold Coast beaches.
'We get at least five of those a year and about one yellow belly sea snakes.'
Mr Noy said he regularly walks along the beach and has never seen a snake there before.
According to the Department of Environment and Energy, the Olive-headed is a prominent member of the sea snake family of sub-tropical Queensland.
It typically likes the tropical waters of northern Australia and Southern Papua New Guinea, to New Caledonia, and is found in sand or mud habitats in water depths between three and 10 metres.
'It becomes relatively common in the waters between Bundaberg and Fraser Island each year from August to January,' the website stated.
Mr Harrison said, on average, he is called to remove between 15 and 20 snakes from Gold Coast beaches each year - some of which are sea snakes.
He said if you do see a snake on the beach, don't touch it and call the council straight away.
