Bengaluru-based start-up HealthifyMe begins global foray from Malaysia

Bengaluru-based health and fitness start-up made its first global foray with its launch in Malaysia. The start-up is also planning expansion into Indonesia, Singapore and some regions in the West Asia.

The six-year-old company has also raised $6 million from InnoVen Capital, a venture debt fund, and existing investors to fuel its growth. Early this year, raised $12 million in series B financing led by Sistema Asia Fund.

Founded by Tushar Vashist, a former banker, and ex-Google executive Sachin Shenoy, HealthifyMe is also one of the earliest in India to be backed by Samsung Next, the innovation arm of electronics major Samsung. The other early investors include IDG Ventures India (now Chiratae Ventures), Inventus Capital, and Blume Ventures.
