BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa, who hitherto desisted from commenting on the episode of CCB police targeting his former Ministerial colleague G. Janardhana Reddy, on Thursday publicly backed the mining baron.
He described the entire episode of the CCB police arresting Mr. Reddy in connection with a money laundering case and later releasing him as a “fresh example of political interference in policing”.
He alleged that the ruling dispensation was misusing the Anti-Corruption Bureau and other wings of the police to settle political scores.
“What else do you call this other than misuse of power?,” he asked.
Alleging that the law and order situation had completely collapsed in the State, Mr. Yeddyurappa expressed fear that such a situation would have an adverse impact on the investment scenario in the State.
