There’s A Brand-New, Unregistered 2005 Ford GT Offered For Sale

A Ford dealership is currently offering a 2005 GT in essentially brand new condition. The supercar apparently was never titled, thus making it a true ‘brand new’ example but you’ll have to pay $450,000 for it.

Examples of the first-gen Ford GT have been gradually gaining value the past few years but we never really came across an example priced that high, at least until now. Cars with more miles on them tend to be asking around $230 to $250k, with low-mileage examples going for around $300k.

You could argue of course that you won’t find a Ford GT of this generation in better condition and you would be probably true, given that the Golf Mill Ford dealership took care of it the past 13 years.

Back in 2005, the same car came with an MSRP of $156,595, after being optioned with the $5,000 racing stripes, $750 red brake calipers, $5,500 lightweight forged alloys and a $4,000 McIntosh CD head audio unit.

Power comes from a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 that produces 550hp and 500lb-ft (678Nm) of torque. Paired to it is a Ricardo six-speed manual transmission, which was of course the only option. Ford claimed that the Ford GT was able of a 0-62mph (100km/h) in 3.8 seconds, topping out at 205mph (330km/h).

Ford made just over 4,000 examples of the first-gen Ford GT between 2004 and 2006, which in theory makes it a less exclusive car than the current model’s production run of 1,350 cars. Fans and collectors though have started to show their appreciation to the old GT, which offers a thunderous V8 soundtrack and a pretty engaging driving experience.

Is this 2005 Ford GT really worth $450,000? As long as a customer is willing to pay for it.
