Indore: The BJP and Congress party candidates stepped up canvassing in Rau assembly constituency on Wednesday. Sitting Congress MLA Jitu Patwari campaigned in Silicon City. BJP candidate Madhu Verma campaigned door-todoor in ward number 76. Free Press team met both the candidates to talk about their challenges and promises.
‘CHALLENGING SITUATION, BUT WILL WIN’
Madhu Verma said BJP has worked more for development of ward 76 and other areas in the constituency.“BJP’s development work in the constituency will be remembered by voters and they will give us a chance to serve them by coming to power,” Verma said. Verma started campaign from near Columbia Convent School and covered Manavta Nagar, Sarvasampanna Nagar and nearby areas.
Verma took blessing from elders and requested them to give him a chance to serve and work for area’s development. “Party has trusted me and given me a chance to contest election from Rau constituency. I consider the chance as a challenge and believe that I will win the heart and trust of people,” Verma said. Supporters Vikas Mishra and Anil Upadhyay said area has scope for development and only BJP can bring change. ‘
RAU CONSTITUENCY IS MY FAMILY’
Congress candidate Jitu Patwari started door-to-door campaign from 7 am. Before that, he reached Silicon City with his wife at 5 am to take part in Chhath Puja. Patwari campaigned in Kasturbagram, Ralamandal, Mrizapur, Asravad, Morod, Machla, Umrikheda, Tejaji Nagar and other nearby areas. Jitu Patwari said, “I don’t work as a political leader in Rau, I consider people here as my family members.” Patwari claims that he knows almost every household in his constituency.
Patwari’s supporters claim that he served people in constituency as a Congress worker even before he became an MLA. The supporters are sure of winning in this election as they have been continuously working for welfare since the last election. Patwari claims that his supporters and party workers are working with dedication and he will surely win this election.
